PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Studies and internships have included in-depth research and documentation of fine and decorative arts. Courses, workshops and seminars on fine art, decorative art, American silver 1800-1940, estate jewelry, 18th and 19th-century furniture and IRS legal guidelines. Training took place in such esteemed locations such as Sotheby’s, Doyle’s Auction House, Swann Auction Galleries, Hirschl & Adler, Beauvais Carpet, New York University and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Knowledgeable in all areas of art appraisal from the legal and ethical aspects to the IRS legal guidelines in valuation. A current member of the Appraisers Association of America: “The oldest non-profit professional association of personal property appraisers and recognized authority for setting appraisal standards.”

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE After graduating from Auburn University with a BFA in Fine Arts and a minor study in Art History, Sarah moved to Fort Collins, CO where she simultaneously explored her own artistic accomplishments and gallery pursuits. She spent two years as an art consultant at The Walnut Street Gallery in Fort Collins, CO and eventually found her way to Birmingham, AL where she became the Director of the prestigious Loretta Goodwin Gallery for five years.
Always looking for a new challenge Sarah began her endeavors as a fine art appraiser in 2004. After several credit hours and many hours in the field Sarah became an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers in 2006. In March of 2008 Sarah formed her own firm focusing on fine art appraisals with a specialty in 19th Century American Impressionism. Sarah is knowledgeable in all areas of art appraisal from the legal and ethical aspects to the IRS legal guidelines in valuation. |
